Molteno Ophthalmic is a privately owned company, established in 1982 and a world leader in research, development and production of ophthalmic medical devices.

Molteno Ophthalmic manufactures the Molteno3 Implant, the latest member of the original and most successful family of glaucoma implants. Based on the pioneering work of Professor Anthony Molteno and now in it's third generation, the Molteno3 Implant is the treatment of choice for severe and complex cases of glaucoma.

We also produce the M-Sphere, the most porous and biocompatable of all orbital implants. The M-Sphere's hydroxyapatite matrix is rapidly and completely incorporated by the body into a healthy living globe that moves naturally providing excellent cosmetic outcome.

The Company's Class 350 Cleanroom facility is located in the heart of Dunedin -- New Zealand’s Biotech Capital. Molteno Ophthalmic has ISO 13485 and CE Mark Accreditation and all our products are FDA approved and have CE certification for use within the European Union. Our products are distributed through a network of distributors in the USA, Australasia, Europe, Russia, Africa, and Asia.
